  • Used Behavioural Insights to identify peer led engagement as a strategy for driving training engagement, this achieved a proven impact on deployment readiness

  • Rapid and efficient capability building on Automation Powered Technology

  • Built resilience amongst teams by starting the transition towards a culture more open to continuous learning and improvements, leaving our client better equipped to deal with future changes.

Background

A global organisation set out to implement an ambitious growth strategy requiring standardisation and innovative technology powered by automation across nearly 300 ports worldwide.

Challenge

Given the complexity and scale of the transformation, capability building and behaviour change were essential for success. However, ensuring remote engagement in a traditionally face-to-face working environment posed a significant challenge.

Approach

To increase the motivation of teams across continents, we looked at building momentum around the training journey by peer promotion. A key principle of Behavioural Insights is understanding the context and environment that influences people’s behaviour. By employing this principal, we held workshops with a diverse group and understood that teams in some regions had differing cultural norms to engaging and communicating across teams. Some norms discouraged sharing personal experiences, such as their learning journey as part of the transformation. Understanding these barriers allowed us to tailor solutions for better engagement. We identified and empowered trusted team members to share their own training journeys, offering relatable insights, tips, and encouragement to their peers

Impact

By connecting the dots between leadership, behavioural insights, and peer influence, we achieved a 35% increase in training engagement. Learners who participated in the digital training showed improved system skills at deployment and were better prepared to support colleagues, ensuring a smoother transition to the new processes.
